Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, warming Amelia's face as she sipped her coffee. The gentle clinking of the spoon against her ceramic mug was the only sound breaking the morning quiet. She stretched, a long, luxurious movement, feeling the pleasant pull in her muscles. A smile played on her lips as she gazed out at her vibrant rose bushes, already blooming. This was the perfect start to the day. The phone ringing sliced through her blissful mood.

"Amelia? This is Dr. Ramirez's office," a crisp voice announced. "We need to speak to you urgently about your recent blood work." A knot of dread twisted in her stomach, but she fought to remain composed. "Of course. Is everything alright?"

The voice hesitated, before saying, "There seems to have been a mix-up with your records. We'll need you to come in as soon as possible." Amelia's world tilted. The beautiful roses suddenly seemed menacing.
